FILM: Fiction - A Ticket to Tomahawk
Films are powerful double spiritual mirrors.
The Tomahawk & Western Railroad is fictional, as are the towns of Epitaph and Tomahawk. The train scenes were filmed on the Silverton Branch of the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad near Rockwood, Colorado. This location was also used in several other Western films, and is now part of the Durango & Silverton tourist railroad.
The steam locomotive that stars in the film, known as Emma Sweeny, was actually Rio Grande Southern #20, a 3-foot-gauge 4-6-0 Ten-Wheeler built by the Schenectady Locomotive Works in 1899.
